Open to opportunities

Hi, I'm Shifawu Bello.
I build things
for the web.

Frontend developer focused on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with a real interest in how interfaces look, feel, and actually work. Currently learning React and building projects that teach me something new each time.

A little about me

I got into frontend development because I liked the idea that code could make something genuinely good-looking and easy to use. I started with tutorials, but the real learning happened when I stopped following along and started building things from scratch.

Right now I'm working through React while keeping my fundamentals sharp, writing clean HTML, thinking carefully about CSS, and getting more comfortable with JavaScript patterns every week.

I don't have years of job experience yet, but I'm consistent, I ask good questions, and I pay attention to the details most people overlook. I'm looking for a team where I can contribute and grow at the same time.

What I work with

Honest about my level with each of these. The ones marked "learning" are what I'm actively working on right now.

HTML5 Comfortable

Semantic markup, accessible structure, forms, and document hierarchy. I think about HTML before CSS.

CSS3 Comfortable

Flexbox, Grid, custom properties, responsive layouts, transitions. I genuinely enjoy writing CSS.

JavaScript Intermediate

DOM, events, ES6+, async/await, fetch. Getting more fluent with every project I build.

React Learning

Components, props, useState, useEffect. My main focus right now — building real things, not exercises.

Responsive Design Comfortable

Mobile-first layouts. I test on real devices and use DevTools properly instead of guessing breakpoints.

Git & GitHub Comfortable

Version control, branching, pull requests. All my projects are public with real commit history.

Things I've built

All on GitHub ↗

Task Manager

A drag-and-drop task board that persists to localStorage. Tasks survive a page refresh. Taught me a lot about thinking in state before I started React.

Recipe Finder — React

My first real React project. Search recipes by ingredient via the MealDB API. I learned hooks, conditional rendering, and how to compose components properly.

Let's talk
